My name is Caden fiddler, and I am a senior at Guilford High School working on a project that means a lot to me: raising awareness and funds for NAMI Connecticut (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Mental health is something that impacts all of us—whether personally, through our families, or through friends—and too often, it is surrounded by stigma and silence. NAMI CT works to break that stigma, provide support, and advocate for better resources for those who need them most. To support their mission, I am organizing a car show fundraiser. Cars bring people together. They’re a passion, a form of expression, and a way to connect with others who share the same interests. By combining this community energy with an important cause, the car show will not only raise funds for NAMI CT but also create space for conversations about mental health. This event is about more than just cars—it’s about showing support, building awareness, and reminding people that they are not alone. Every dollar raised will go directly toward programs and advocacy efforts that help individuals and families impacted by mental illness.
